We are a group of creative people who came together with the purpose of being a canvas printer that delivers fine art quality prints to anyone. We believe that just because you are a hobbyist, or a photo novice doesn't mean that you deserve to get sub quality printed products. We want everyone to feel like his or her canvas print could hang in a museum, but their home will do just fine.
Everything we produce is handcrafted here in our Houston, TX facility. From prepping each image for quality and printability to cutting the poplar stretcher frames for custom canvas prints. All our canvas wall art printing is done in house right here in Houston. Just goes to show you that great things come from humble places.
Not only is everything we do made and assembled in house, but all of the materials we use to finish each product is also sourced from within the USA. That includes the fine art canvas and the wood it is stretched on. We do not export anything in from China to cut costs.
We source all of our canvas used for making canvas prints directly from the manufacturer in Austin, TX. We do this to maintain consistency and quality. You can choose from four different types of canvas material for your finished canvas print. Each canvas choice produces beautiful results. We offer the choice between a Standard Canvas, Museum Glossy, Museum Matte, or our Urth Canvas. For more specifics on the types of canvas you can go to our Canvas Prints page to learn more.
A great way to judge if a photo printed to canvas is of good quality is to see what type of wood is used to stretch the canvas over. We use poplar because it maintains it shape over many years of stress. Poplar is resistant to warping and lightweight making it perfect for canvas stretcher frames. Watch out for pine or MDF (medium density fiberboard) used as stretcher bars as they will warp or break easily over time.
What exactly does "giclee" mean and why is it important to you? The term "giclee" is not just another term for ink jet printers. The technology to create fine art reproductions that looked so close to the original it was scary started in 1991. Since then the term has been overused and generalized. We take it to mean quality fine art printing using top of the line printers, inks and software to produce amazing reproductions of your originals. As a canvas printer we use eco-solvent inks that are heated during the printing process so that they embed into the canvas giving your finished canvas greater flexibility that translates to a finished canvas print that will last for generations without degrading.
Each canvas print starts from scratch. The wood for the frame is cut down from stock and is then put together for each and every order that comes in. Once the frame is made the canvas is carefully hand-stretched to ensure a taught finish with perfect crisp corners.
Being a canvas printer that you can trust includes providing you with full customization of your canvas. During the ordering process you can see exactly how your photo will crop, what the borders of your canvas will look like and full customization of print sizes from 8"x8" all the way up to 54"x96". We even give you control of what type of hanging hardware and color finishes you want on your finished canvas print.
