An easy set up to photograph a still-life is a solid sheet (black or white...or any color that suits your fancy), a window, and your object. Choose your set up perpendicular or at an angle to the window and prop your sheet up so you don't see any wrinkles or folds. Presto you have beautiful light on your subject.
