Unique and Empowering Child Portrait Session From Austin Photographer Jaime Moore

Let me start off this post by saying that we absolutely love new ideas and creativity that is outside the box. That is exactly what we saw when we came across Austin based photographer Jaime Moore's idea for her daughter's 5 year portraits. Jaime had been doing a lot of research for creative portrait ideas for her daughter's (Emma) birthday. What she found was, "95% of the “ideas” were the “How to’s” of how to dress your little girl like a Disney Princess." Jamie wrote on her blog. So instead of taking a portrait of her daughter as a character that was written she decided to choose 5 women who "without ever meeting Emma have changed her life for the better. My daughter wasn’t born into royalty, but she was born into a country where she can now vote, become a doctor, a pilot, an astronaut, or even President if she wants and that’s what REALLY matters". The 5 women they chose were Susan B. Anthony, Coco Chanel, Amelia Earhart, Helen Keller, and Jane Goodall. Jaime found a portrait of each of these amazing women and then styled her daughter to match each of the portraits. The results and the message is quite uplifting and inspirational to all parents and children alike. Too often in life we overlook the people in life who made changes that we are better off for today. We absolutely love the last line in Jaime's blog post where she writes, "so let’s set aside the Barbie Dolls and the Disney Princesses for just a moment, and let’s show our girls the REAL women they can be." Bravo Jaime and may we say well done. There are so many layers to these photos. The cuteness, the message, and meaning are all fantastic. We hope you are inspired by her photos.
