I was intrigued by what Canvas Press could do the first time I saw one of their demos at a networking event. It amazed me how with photography they could convert any image into a digital graphic image then create a large stretched canvas painted portrait.

My uncle loves food. He loves eating, he loves cooking, and he even loves watching shows about eating and cooking. He will watch programs about growing and preparing food before he will watch the news or go to a movie. So when it came time to be his birthday, I knew the theme I wanted to go with. The hard part is getting him something creative. Everyone else is getting him gift cards to his favorite restaurants and organic food stores. I didn’t want to be another square of plastic in his wallet this year. That’s why I have decided to use the services offered at Canvas Press to create a photo to canvas print for him.

Why choose a photo to canvas print for a gift? For me, it was the fact that it would be a unique gift among a sea of predictable packages. I wanted something he wouldn’t see coming, but that he would also appreciate. The best part is that the process for creating my photo to canvas print was so easy, I didn’t have to rush to get it completed in time. I simply uploaded my digital image to www.canvaspress.com and follow their easy instructions for the creation of my photo to canvas print.
I decided to take a photo I had of my uncle and me working on his container garden he has in his back yard. The photo was taken when everything was in full bloom and it looked absolutely beautiful. I uploaded the image and played around with their cropping tool to get the image just right. The colors on the image were bright and the finished image was going to look beautiful when hung on the pale green walls of his back porch. I know this is where he will eventually hand it because that is where he sits to watch his food programs.
I went through several other photos before deciding on this one. Some other ideas I had were to take an image of the two of us in the kitchen chopping vegetable from the same container garden later in the year or the dinner spread we put out that evening. We had enough food to feed an army and ended up having to call several additional people to come over and help us eat it all.
The best part of the whole thing is that the finished canvas was delivered right to my door. All I had to do was wrap it and leave in time for his birthday party.
