New parents love to take pictures with baby. This year for Father’s day, give the new father in your life a gift he will remember and love â€" a photo to canvas print from Canvas Press.
The folks at Canvas Press have developed a simple and easy to use site for uploading our own images and turning them into beautiful photo to canvas prints. Simply log on to their website, www.canvaspress.com, and start making a memory that will last for years to come.
Not sure where to start on your family portrait? Here is a checklist to get you started. This will work well even if you aren’t in the immediate family. It will help you in the planning process and get you headed in the right direction for a successful photo shoot.
- Decide on your theme.Â
This might sound simple, but it is very important to the overall image. Are you going for a serious image? Is it going to be humorous? Deciding from the onset will help you in the later steps.
- Decide on your location.
Location can make or break an image. Scout your location early and make sure that you don’t need a reservation or permission from a third party prior to the shoot. Also, if it is an outdoor location, look around the area and take into account the time of year and the amount of time between now and the shoot. Will there be pre-cleaning and raking needed? Think about your theme and whether or not it will work with your location.
- Schedule your photographer.Â
This could be as simple as calling your sister or friend, but scheduling it out in advance will not only be helpful to you, but also considerate to others.
- Check your props. This is where your theme really comes into play. Are you going to need to move furniture in the house? Do you need to load up chairs or blankets for an outdoor shoot? Clothing will also fall into this category. Make sure everyone has something that will compliment the picture and not clash with it. Also, make sure everything fits.
- Schedule a make-up day.  Always go into a project like this with more than one possible date for the shoot. If you are shooting outdoors, it could rain or be too overcast to get a goof image. You are also dealing with a new baby which means that the parent’s world will be very unpredictable. By deciding on several possible dates, you leave yourself with options should something happen. It could simply be that baby is too fussy that day to sit still or mom could be too tired from not having slept the night before.Â
