Custom canvas prints are printed with industrial scale 8 or 12 color inkjet printers, the inkjet printer setting in your home or office is only 4 colors. The inkjet deposits millions of tiny colored ink drops onto the canvas thus reproducing colors and details in amazing clarity. In this computer driven age many artists are producing original art which is created in a computer and is sold only after being reproduced using this inkjet process. Some of these pieces have actually sold for thousands of dollars.

This process has been around for two decades and in that time it became the favorite method of artists and photographers who sell prints. The digital image used in the process lends itself to changes. The artist is able to produce custom canvas prints to the size specifications of his or her customer, while only producing a print when needed. The process unlike other methods of reproduction doesn’t force paint thru screens, which change slightly over the printing run, which allows the last printing to be an exact copy of the original. As you can see the artist has good reason to use this printing technology.

Now you can be the artist

The artists no longer have exclusive access to custom canvas prints which means you and I can produce our own art. Using this technology we can produce custom art from our own photos. Pictures of our vacations, family reunions, graduations or our amateur attempts at artistic photography can be used to produce wonderful and personal wall art.

Why this process?

Custom canvas prints have several superior features to other print media.

1. The inks used are archival and with normal care and diligence will last for several generations. The inks soak into the canvas which makes them an integral part of the canvas.

2. Canvas is a textured media, which gives the printed surface a non-reflective property that prevents glare. The surface of the print feels like a painting not a photograph.

3. During the production of custom canvas prints a treatment is applied to protect the canvas from ultra violet rays, which are the primary culprit in ink and dye fading. This treatment allows your canvas to be displayed without a protective glass cover. This lack of a glass cover and the natural non glare producing surface of the canvas will allow your canvas to be viewed in any room or position in a room you desire.

4. Custom canvas prints are stretched over a hardwood frame to prepare them for display. The frame and canvas are about 1-1/2 inches thick. The museum wrap has the image run over and around the sides and to and bottom of the frame. This is the modern look that you will see in many lobbies of hospitals and business offices. The lack of a frame cuts a considerable amount from the cost of the canvas and looks great hanging on the wall.
