Wow! I was so excited when our prints arrived. They looked even better than I had hoped. Caroline contacted me to help figure out the best way to format a fairly low-resolution image so we could get the best looking print possible, and it looks great! The online layout and selection tools are a snap, the prices are very competitive, and the customer service is top notch. Well definitely be using Canvas Press again!

This Christmas, make your Grandmother smile with memories from her past.  Using the tools available at www.canvaspress.com, you can create a photo to canvas print that is sure to put a smile on her face.

Many old photographs begin to yellow and deteriorate with age.  Thanks to the innovative folks at Canvas Press, you can turn those photographs into beautiful canvas prints that will last for years to come.
Simply send in your old and weathered photograph to Canvas Press and tell them the size you would like.  They will take your photo and use it to create a beautiful canvas print.  You can also choose the oil painting option to add brush strokes to the canvas if you like that style.  Canvas Press will them mail you the completed print right to your door as well as returning the original photograph.  It couldn’t be simpler.

So, how do you choose which photo to send in?  First, look through the photographs you have available.  You may need to coordinate an afternoon to get Grandmother out of the house if you want it to be a surprise.  Once you locate the photos, look for images that are clear and defined.  Blurry or grainy photos will not enhance well.

Once you have several to choose from, begin looking at the subjects.  Is there one of any special significance such as a wedding or graduation?  Maybe there is a photo of your Grandmother’s Grandmother - wouldn’t that be a great gift!  Try visualizing the image much larger and hanging on the wall as you look at your pictures.  Will the image still look good once enlarged?  Are the subjects easy to see?  Is the entire picture in focus?  Asking yourself these questions will help you determine which image will look the best once it is turned into a canvas print.
Another thing to think about is where the image will be hung.  When Grandmother receives your special Christmas gift, where will it ultimately end up?  You don’t want to order a two foot by three foot image if the only place it will fit is in the garage.  Look for a space where your canvas print can find a home and use that in your decision making.

Lastly, decide how the print will be finished out.  Does your Grandmother have a modern home or is there more of an antique flair to it?  You will have the option to choose a gallery wrap on your print or a standard wrap.  A gallery wrap will continue the image around the sides of the print so that it can be hung without a frame.  A standard wrap will only have a lip of image around the edge and will need to be finished out with a frame of some kind.

There are many sizes and options to choose from, so take your time and don’t rush.  The memory you create as a canvas print will last for many years to come and your patience will be rewarded.
