I was intrigued by what Canvas Press could do the first time I saw one of their demos at a networking event. It amazed me how with photography they could convert any image into a digital graphic image then create a large stretched canvas painted portrait.

Christmas for mom is filled with trying to make memories for the family. This year, give her the gift of a memory with a photo to canvas print from Canvas Press.
Making a truly beautiful canvas print has never been easier. Simply upload your photo to www.canvaspress.com, select the size you wish to create and crop the image if necessary. You can choose the style of finish for your print depending on whether you wish to frame it or not.

So, with the easy part explained, let’s look at the hard part: What do you make a print of?
It can be as easy or simple as you wish. You could take the kids out for a group photo or take individuals for a series of prints. It could be themed, such as they all wear elf costumes or pirate outfits, or it could be a casual photo around the fireplace. You can also include family pets. Who can resist a dog with an antler headband or a jingle bell collar?
Looking for something a little more special? Want to remind her of the day you said “I do”? How about a picture of you in the same outfit five, ten or twenty years later? Locate a tuxedo rental or appropriate costume rental for the year you were married. Try to find a location that is either similar to the one in which you were married or holds a special significance for you. Have a friend go with you to take the photos and stage an image. Perhaps you are sitting on the steps of the church with her dried wedding bouquet in your hands. Maybe you are at the restaurant where you proposed in front of the same dinner you ordered that night holding a little blue box. She will be delighted to see that you remember one of her happiest days.
Canvas Press also gives you the option of changing your photo to black and white, so you don’t need to worry about having to edit the photo first. They also offer brush stroke service called OilWorks. It will give your photo to canvas image the look of an oil painting.
Another thing to consider is the size of the finished print. Make sure to scope out possible locations for your image before choosing a size. This will help when it comes time to hang up your canvas print. You don’t want to order a tiny print if you have the entire wall behind your sofa bare.
