Cats are strange animals.  They have the run of a house and tend to have exotic personalities.  A cat lover is a person who is completely devoted to their favorite feline.  They buy them toys, climbing towers covered in carpet and special food.  I used to think that the commercial where the cat ate the food out of the crystal glass was a joke until I met a woman named Kristy.  She and I became friends a few years ago and, although she doesn’t have a long stemmed glass for her cat Alexandria, she does have a cut crystal bowl.

When Kristy’s birthday rolled around, I decided to get her something special.  She was planning an overnight trip and was in need of a cat sitter, so I volunteered.  Alexandria was, although extremely high maintenance, a pretty interesting cat.  Once Kristy was out the door and on her way, I started to put my plan into practice.  I used Alexandria’s bed along with a piece of tapestry fabric I had brought with me and set up an impromptu photo studio on Kristy’s bedroom.  I placed Alexandria on the mahogany cat bed and, after petting her for several minutes, was able to get up without her leaving the bed.  I already had the camera in place as I lay down on the floor to get at eye level with the cat.  I took several images before Alexandria decided she had had enough and left the cat bed for the couch.  I recommend that once you get the cat in place, you take as many images as you can.  The more you take, the more you will have to choose from later.  I put everything back and when Kristy was home, she was none the wiser.
