Painting Fall Leaves and Creative Ideas for Autumn

If you have ever had the honor of living in a state that explodes with color in fall, you know the true meaning of beauty. One moment it’s a warm, balmy summer day then suddenly the trees begin spilling over with the rich colors of reds, yellows and oranges while the temperature drops 15 degrees. You find yourself pulling out your trendy scarves and matching wool mittens and realize that autumn has arrived and is beckoning to be admired and captured on film and then turned into a painted masterpiece.
Fall is the perfect time to pull out your camera and begin documenting the awesome phenomenon of the season change. You can start photographing your experiences early before the leaves drop from the trees and then have a whole new subject matter once they lay artistically in the streets and sidewalks of your town. You could capture a tree lined street with your camera set for distance or zoom in close to embrace the tiny droplets of water and bugs moving their way from leaf to leaf. Once you have all your photos up on your computer, you can find your favorites and get them ready to be painted.
Using photo editing software on your computer you can crop the photos to help with composition or pop the color a bit for more saturation. Once you have the photos of your leaves set up just the way you want them, make small copies (such as 8x10 or 11x14) of them on fine art paper from Canvas Press. They will print them out for you using precise color and detail and ship them to you immediately.
Once you receive your small fine art photo prints, set them up somewhere near your easel. Take good care of them, because they will be so beautiful that you will want to frame them later. Now you can begin painting a masterpiece from that beautiful day you captured on film. You have your print to work from and you are ready to go. Even if you only paint one painting from that day, it will be well worth the fond memories that accompany it. What is really wonderful about your new painting is now you have an incredible gift to give your friends and relatives as Christmas approaches. How is that possible if you only have one painting, you ask? … Make giclee prints with help from Canvas Press!
Since you have a camera to take the beautiful autumn leaves, why not use it to take high quality photos of your new fall painting. To make sure there is no glare on your painting, photograph it BEFORE you lacquer it. Again, open it on the computer and crop the photo of your painting to the desired size and dimensions. Go ahead and fix the color if need be and save it. Now is the excited part of printing on canvas! Go back to the Canvas Press site and begin playing. You will have so many great choices of frames and sizes to choose from and if you get intimidated, the super friendly staff at Canvas Press is there to help you out with all your questions. You may just have your entire Christmas list checked off before autumn turns to winter and all because of that one beautiful day in fall.
