Got an iPhone? Get a Canvas.

Built with style, the new Apple iPhone is a very functional device. I recently purchased the new phone and I've been excited daily to keep playing with it. There are a few quirks with the iPhone, but overall I'm impressed and I can't wait to see what the next generation iPhone will bring.

One of the features of the new iPhone is that like most other mobile phones today, it has a built-in camera for those of us that can't live without a camera. The camera is not the best camera found on mobile devices; however, I was surprised to discover that you can create a quality image from the iPhone to have printed as a canvas, so let's get into the details.

The iPhone houses a 2.0 megapixel camera producing images that are 1200 x 1600 at 72 dpi (dots per inch). The iPhone organizes your images, allowing you to simply flick through them with your finger. Accessing your images from your computer is simple as well. Connect your iPhone to your computer and gain instant access to all those images you've taken. I also like that you can easily send an image to an e-mail recipient, this makes for a great way to show someone that special image.

There are a few downsides to the iPhone camera. It doesn't allow for zooming and you and the subject must stay still or you'll get a blurry image. The iPhone also doesn't have a flash, so you need to make sure that there is plenty of light to take that image or you'll get nothing. However, when your kid is making that once in a life-time expression you can rest assure that the iPhone can capture the moment with decent quality.

So how large can you enlarge an iPhone image? Well it depends, but if you manage to take a non-blurry and well lit image with your iPhone, chances are you will be able to enlarge it to a 16" x 20" canvas gallery wrap and be satisfied with the results. The texture of the canvas helps the minor pixilation that you start to see at that size. Going bigger would not be suggested as the image will start to appear blurry or pixilated.

If that perfect image is on your iPhone, don't worry. Visit Canvas Press and let us make it look good. If you have doubts about an image, simply e-mail it to support@canvaspress.com and we'll let you know how large you can print your image on canvas.
